Abstract

A wide range of enzymes is used in many industrial environments. The primary risk that they present to human health is sensitization of the respiratory tract. Proteolytic enzymes can give risk to skin irritation. All enzymes have the potential to cause immunologic contact urticaria, although this is not common.
