Abstract

Biological purification processes for exhaust gases loaded with volatile organic components (solvent vapours) have now been available for several years. These pollutants can be transformed into a safe reaction products by microorganisms. The products are biomass and carbon dioxide. This article describes a plant which maintains pollutant levels in industrial waste gases below the levels required by the Federal German legislation ('TA-Luft').
