Abstract

We have developed a concept mapping tool for nursing education. We first conducted a student attitude survey on concept mapping to identify points that the students felt were difficult. The three main problem areas were 1) thinking about correlations, 2) drawing maps, and 3) collecting reference materials. We therefore designed a tool that would help students overcome these difficulties. The tool, which makes use of Microsoft Excel VBA, enables students to easily draw, review, and revise concept maps. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
