Abstract

In this study, a decision making model is developed by combining fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) and quality function deployment (QFD). The purpose of this article is to provide a quick solution to deal with the uncertainties and the risks of the Turkish ready to wear textile sector. In order to accomplish this purpose, customer needs are detailed and ranked using FAHP, and then a two-staged QFD is applied. In here, a house of flexibility is constructed to relate customer needs with the management and manufacturing flexibility levers. Later on, a second house is built to detail down the flexibility levers into system factors. The application of this combined approach is interrogated in an international women's ready-to-wear firm based in Turkey which targets high consumer segment.
