Many variables exist in the copper etching process. When the measurement is made, differences in the kinds of variation are found. Measuring techniques and analysis of the data are important for defining inspection and monitoring procedures. This article describes how to acquire and analyze inspection data. These techniques should be fundamental tools of a statistical process control. Techiques are also given to predict future performance with the data and analyze process capabilities.
