The Wheat World covers most agriculture regions of the world. New practices in terms of cultivation, reduced tillage, reasoned use of agrochemicals and refined breeding techniques continue to drive yields upwards. Plant biotechnology, a novel approach to wheat as well, is resulting in improved agricultural practices, higher yield and later on opening the field of composition improvements - such future developments are truly new business models which will impact the whole Agrofood chain and will result in some relative changes in their positioning. Acceptance by the public will gradually emerge as product improvements and customer benefits become clearer and generally recognised as positive.
