Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:. To determine the effects of methylxanthine administration on the incidence of apnea and longer-term clinical outcomes in preterm infants including infants at risk for or having apnea and preterm infants peri-extubation.
