Abstract

There are various brands of milk with different “best use before” dates in supermarkets. Each milk package must be sold by this corresponding selling time limit, which is set as two-thirds of the time of its best used before date from production under the so-called one-third rule. If the milk remains unsold when the selling time expires, milk waste occurs. This paper gives a detailed design of a milk supply chain game that simulates the situation and carries out the game experiments. In addition, a questionnaire is completed before and after the experiments to help evaluate the educational effect of the game in increasing awareness of food waste.
