Abstract

The technique of nTMS is increasingly used for mapping of various brain functions in neurosurgical departments worldwide. However, when a department starts integrating nTMS data into the clinical workflow, smooth implementation into the existing environment is mandatory. Against this background, the following chapter outlines the steps of nTMS implementation into daily clinical routine, including integration of nTMS data into the hospital information system (HIS), picture archiving and communication system (PACS), and neuronavigational infrastructure by the use of a structured approach. The easy integration and accessibility of nTMS data are crucial to achieve acceptance and beneficial use of the technique. To create an effective workflow with regard to nTMS, we present the results of our 7 years of experience and progressive integration into clinical software systems and workflow.
