Abstract

Epidemic Analyzer: an intelligent query processor and health support model accepts Layman health information as input and tells the Layman about the percentage of chance for him/her to have an epidemic. This paper is an approach towards integrating knowledge acquisition and reasoning in Web based Epidemic Analysis. The information about allergic medicines for the patient, the environment which the patient resides, list of recently affected diseases is always useful in proper diagnosis of an epidemic. Immediate notification of possible emergency and health artifacts to nearest and possible communication with the personal medical assistant via medical language are always helpful in disease diagnosis at right time. We take the advantage of distributed space architecture and semantic web to achieve these goals. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
