Abstract

The article explains the factors that libraries should adopt in response to the growing market demand for ebooks and mobile reading devices, driven by emerging technologies, as of December 2010. The importance of knowledge on ebook file formats and digital rights management issues is explained. The link between the acquisitions process and the routines designed for print resources is cited. Other topics discussed include cataloging, access and preservation.
