Abstract

The paper presents, through an example, two different approaches to introduce mechanism kinematics to first-cycle mechanical engineering students. Analytical solution and traditional graphic methods are considered, both supported by state-of-the-art software tools. Advantages and disadvantages of both approaches from an educational point of view are outlined during example development. Finally a summarizing discussion is proposed.
