Abstract

An ease of use, convenient and high compact noncontact electrocardiograph (NCECG) monitoring node for wireless body sensor network is presented in this paper. Compared with many other two electrodes NCECG monitoring node, it has the advantages of noncontact, no infection and less time-consuming. It uses doubled shielded active ECG electrodes and, adds a right-leg-drive circuit to reduce the common mode noise. The experiment results show that the designed NCECG node could accurately monitor the ECG signal under the circumstances that the electrodes are insulated by one layer of clothes. Besides ECG monitoring function, the NCECG node also integrates with temperature, respiration and motion state monitoring function, while the size of the circuit board is just 93 mm*40mm. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.
