Abstract

Pediatric simulation programs are in high demand because of the broad applicability of simulation in health care. However, in order to become an established and sustainable pediatric simulation program, there must be short- and long-range planning considerations for space, faculty, finances, and equipment. Administrative and operational responsibilities become key to a program's success or failure as it grows and takes on new challenges. From building governance models, to choosing the right faculty members, to understanding the correct resources for simulators available, these are various choices that simulation administrators must address when building successful programs. In this chapter, the various considerations and issues that simulation program administrators must tackle in order to build successful programs are discussed.
