Library Publishing of Open Textbooks: The Open SUNY Textbooks Program

Abstract

The article discusses the State University of New York (SUNY) Geneseo Milne Library administration of the Open SUNY Textbooks (OST) program, which engages faculty in the creation of open access textbooks. Topics discussed include the high costs associated with textbooks, the role of the library as a publisher of textbooks, and the use of print-on-demand for the program.
