This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: The primary review objective will be to assess the effect of UCTs for humanitarian assistance in natural and man-made disasters, primarily on the use of health services and health outcomes and secondarily on relevant social determinants of health, health care expenditure and effects on local markets and infrastructure in children and adults in LMICs. Secondary objectives will be to assess the relative effectiveness for improving health as a disaster response of UCTs versus in-kind transfers, and UCTs versus CCTs.
