Abstract

Demographic characteristics, ocular anatomy, genetic and some external factors are all identified as risk factors for acute angle-closure (AAC). However, the majority of risk factors identified come from either cross-sectional studies or clinical observations. Lack of systematic longitudinal data hinders a better understanding of the natural history of the disease and a correct identification of risk factors. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
