Beauty and the Brain: Neuroaesthetics

Abstract

In many languages the concept of beauty not only represents the main characteristic of aesthetic evaluation, but also includes a perceivable positive quality. In this chapter we will observe how these theoretical statements receive an exact feedback from the studies on neurobiological basis of what can be defined as ‘aesthetical mind’, representing as well one of the main and most fascinating subject matter of the neuroaestethic research. Aesthetic expressions may give us an insight not only into aesthetics but also into neural process dynamic interrelations.
