Abstract

In this paper, we will show the importance of understanding game design concepts when creating a game level. In this case, we are using the creation of a game level that has being made as a final project of an undergraduate student, to show the results of this paper. We used three methodologies to help them in this process, coming from these sources: the paper “It’s Only a Game”, the book “The Art of Game Design: A Book of Lenses”, and the paper called “MDA: A Formal Approach to Game Design and Game Research”.
