Abstract

Experimental model of a dual-polarized ultra-wideband feed operating from 3 to 18 GHz was developed. The feed supports two orthogonal linear polarizations. The feed is designed for the antenna of a new-generation global radio interferometric network. Adjustment and tuning of the ultra-wideband feed experimental model were performed. Technical solutions to optimize the feed performance were proposed and their validity was confirmed by simulation and performance measurements. Measurements of the main feed parameters: phase and amplitude radiation pattern in E-, H-, and D-planes, gain, voltage standing-wave ratio, and isolation between the channels were performed. The experimental results are in good agreement with the simulation results.
