Abstract

The article analyzes the role of articulation between public and private actors in the definition of the productive profiles of rural spaces. Aspects of the theoretical debate on local development are reviewed, analyzing its implications on the transformations experienced by such spaces. Based on two case studies conducted in the Argentine Pampean Region which are facing relevant social and productive changes, the paper examines some of the issues set in terms of the construction of a "common view" of development and the search of complementarities between new and pre-existent activities.
