This study was aimed to determine whether cognitive behavioral music therapy can reduce anxiety in four women aged 40 to 60 years with characteristics such as essential hypertension (stage 1 and 2), who likes to listen to music, and have moderate anxiety. Cognitive behavioral music therapy were given individually, four times, using a MP4 player and headphones. The participant's anxiety was measured using Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) scale at baseline and every session. This study used small N experiment with ABA design. Data were analyzed by visual inspection and qualitative analysis. The results showed that cognitive behavioral music therapy can reduce patientsi anxiety with hypertension.
