Abstract

This paper introduces the term real-time value-add networks as the IT backbone of emerging business networks in a hyper-connected world. Two research topics are presented that show core aspects of the future of enterprise computing. Rapid Application Development can be used to implement new business processes easily and quickly across heterogeneous cloud platforms and business networks. Secure multi-party computing enables business networks to optimize processes across organizational boundaries without revealing business-critical data. Both research topics show the challenges on the way towards the future of business software and the relevance of innovation communities.
