Abstract

The reasons for using polysulphide sealants are discussed and their chemistry and compounding are described. Applications of polysulphide sealants in the aircraft industry, bolted steel tanks, electrical potting, flight decks, sealer compounds, hose repair compounds and building trade sealants are described. Other sealants are briefly described, polysulphide adhesives are discussed and some other mecaptan terminated polymers are described. (N.G.G.).
