Abstract

Serious Games are full-fledged games that aim at accomplishing a double mission: to achieve the serious goal without compromising the experience of playing a game (player experience, PX). To develop high-quality Serious Games, an interdisciplinary approach is required which integrates computer science, technology and design, psychology, and pedagogy as well as insights from the application domain. So far, only domain-specific frameworks have been proposed for selected application fields. Therefore, the aim of this contribution is to present a generic framework and to demonstrate its usefulness by applying it to the domain of sport.
