The present article reflects on individualization dynamics departing from an understanding of contemporary human work based on an analytical model that identifies different dimensions that shape this phenomenon, and which need to be considered and bounded when understanding workers' subjective experiences. Successively, this paper will present the shapes and tensions associated to individualization in the working market's functioning, the individualizing mechanisms characteristic of human resources' management practices and discourses, and structural characteristics of work organization and design of contemporary companies, expressed mainly in heterogeneous productive universes in which different perspectives, commonly contradictory, coexist.
