Abstract

Preliminary studies resulted in the finding of students' difficulties of SMPN 2 Daha Utara in understanding the dynamic electrical concept. As a result learning outcomes tend to be low. Classroom action research becomes smart decision to clear the gap between expectations and facts. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes and activities through the application of cooperative learning, STAD. The classroom action cycle refers to John Elliot's opinion. The research approach used is descriptive method by explaining the phenomenon that occurs based on observation and assessment. The subjects of this study were students of class IX A SMPN 2 Daha Utara consisting of 19 people, 7 male students and 12 female students. The results show that STAD type cooperative learning can increase activity with active qualification and learning outcome with special qualification, very good and good.
