Abstract

Work of the UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR) is overviewed. The UKWIR's remit covers drinking water and health issues, water resources, wastewater treatment, sewage sludge, water mains, service and sewerage. A key objective of the UKWIR is to introduce skills from around the water sector. The most heavily funded area is drinking water and health with various projects throughout the water industry. These include disinfection and the use of chlorine. (P.M.Taylor)
