Abstract

This paper describes the development and release of a series of web-based services to generate plots of paleomagnetic and rock magnetic data. All plotting services require a World Wide Web browser as the user interface. The use of online plotting services facilitates rapid and easy sharing of work of analysis and preliminary results with collaborators who use different platforms and operating systems. To implement these routines, two paleomagnetic data types (stepwise demagnetization and paleodirection) are formally defined. These have been popular among researchers for many decades.[Figure not available: see fulltext.].
