Abstract

Three activities were carried on simultaneously during 1999: a large government campaign, which was also supported by retailers, utilities and manufacturers, urging consumers to `Buy A'; subsidies for A rated appliances for a limited period; a web site of A rated appliances, their availability and prices was launched and widely publicised. Together these have had a significant impact on sales and prices of A rated appliances in Denmark and are expected to continue to influence the market in future.
