This article reflects on the issue of the subject in psychosis and supports the hypothesis that the subject exists as the principal element of the clinical session. Through speech and by analyzing how the subject orally communicates with others, we may listen to and discover the subject and, as the subject speaks, his relationship with another person is not restricted to a dual relationship, but rather, it includes a third party, the Other. It is the relationship between the subject and the Other that offers us a means to investigate the subject's particularities in psychosis; this is discussed through the analysis of a selected part of a clinical case.
