Epilogue: Looking at the future

Abstract

This chapter concludes the monograph on environmentally friendly machining. A brief summary of topics covered has been presented in the Introduction section of the chapter. Five hot research areas are identified for contributing to environmentally friendly machining. They are development of cutting fluids, development of cutting tools, development of machine tools, optimization, and enhancing the machinability of the work material.
