Abstract

Recently, Fourier and cosine discrete transformations have been proposed to improve document ranking. The methods are advantageous in that they allow the use of spatial information on the presence of a term rather than a count of the term frequency. Further improvement of the approach can be reached by application of fast realizations of discrete transforms. The latter can also obtain a neural implementation.
