Abstract

The current environmental concerns increase the importance of sustainability in the construction industry. In this respect, information and communication technologies were identified to support automation and control systems promoting occupant’s comfort while safeguarding energy efficiency. In this study, a systematic review was performed to identify relevant applications supported by information and communications technologies with impact in the comfort of the occupants of green buildings. Results indicate that the scientific literature presents valuable arguments regarding the importance of information technologies to increase the occupant’s comfort and to minimize energy consumption of the modern green buildings.
