Abstract

Runners are a very unique population to investigate. They are typically fi t and healthy and due to the nature of running could perform well in a wide range of other sporting activities. Due to high training volumes, however, runners are more predisposed to injury due to anatomic adaptations that occur. Many runners carry injuries which appear to be better tolerated by the same person taking part in other sports. These injuries are potentially caused by repeated loading of the lower limb joints seen during running. This paper presents an approach for the treatment of these issues seen in runners.
