Aurintricarboxylic acid (ATA), a potent nuclease inhibitor, has been shown to prevent foreign DNA degradation in transformation of Penicillium chrysogenum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. ATA may be useful not only in vitro but also in vivo. © 1986.
