Abstract
This book grows out of a lively series of interdisciplinary workshops on semantics and pragmatics at the University of Lille 3. We thought that linguists and philosophers of language would be interested in a book which presented some of the ideas that were discussed there. In this introduction we explain the structure of the book and summarise all the chapters.
