Abstract

This paper describes oblique towing tests for estimating ship maneuverability in waves. PMM test in towing tanks is widely used to estimate the hydrodynamic coefficient in the hydrodynamic force model. In this paper, the static drift test was carried out to derive the static hydrodynamic coefficients in calm water and in waves. The 4600TEU container ship was selected to analyze the difference of hydrodynamic coefficient between in calm water and in waves.
