Abstract

Topology has been proposed as a tool to protect quantum information encoding and processes. Work concerning the meaning of topology in quantum states as well as its characterisation in the projected entangled pair state (PEPS) formalism and related schemes is reviewed. © 2007 IOP Publishing Ltd.
