Big data is another disruptive technological revolution in the IT industry after cloud computing and the Internet of Things. Data is growing and accumulating at an unprecedented speed. Big data has been applied in various fields and become an important driving force for social development. To understand the connotation of big data and its key technologies and grasp the significance to the development of education will help us to further study and understand big data, so as to play its important role in promoting the development of education and teaching in China. This paper introduces the concept and background of big data technology and focuses on the analysis and prospect of its application in the field of education to make a comprehensive analysis of the educational application of big data and provide reference for the better application of big data in education.
