Abstract

Internet of things (IoT) is part of everyday life nowadays. Millions of devices are connected to the internet to collect and share data. Although IoT devices are evolving quickly in the consumer market where smart devices and sensors are becoming one of the main components of many households, IoT sensors and actuators are also heavily used in the industry where thousands of devices are used to collect and share data for different purposes. A need for an IoT simulation tool is necessary for development purposes and testing before deployments. One of the widely used tools among IoT researchers is the open-source tool Cooja simulator. Cooja has limitations—one is the lack of a way to export collected data as a data set for further processing. Therefore, this study introduces an extension tool to present and export the data into different forms.
