Abstract

The 1980 the Vienna Convention was agreed with the aim of establishing uniform rules to regulate some of the most important issues in the international sale of goods. However, this convention grants the parties the possibility of excluding their clauses to regulate a specific case. The purpose of this article is to establish whether said possibility of exclusion constitutes a factor of uncertainty in determining the applicable law to the international sales contract and therefore, it can be considered as an obstacle to the application of impartial rules.
