Abstract

Last generation radiation therapy systems incorporate kV imaging equipment for real time X-ray imaging which makes the monitoring of tumor motion possible. In this paper we propose a scheme for real-time 2D/3D registration at 5Hz update rate using computationally efficient DRR generation and optimization techniques previously developed by our group. Real time registration should allow for intrafractional tumor tracking without the help of implanted markers or sensors.
