Abstract

A study on Chlorococcal algae was carried out at 33 stations (ponds, swamps, reservoirs, lakes and rivers) from May 2009 to January 2013. The families Hydrodictyaceae and Coelastraceae of order Chlorococcales were investigated, including 5 genera, 29 species, and 17 varieties. Among them, 8 taxa were newly recorded for Korea; 1) Family Hydrodictyaceae: Pediastrum asymmetricum, P. boryanum var. campanulatum, 2) Family Coelastraceae: Actinastrum aciculare, A. hantzschii var. subtile, Coelastrum indicum, C. microporum var. octaedricum, C. morus, C. pulchrum. © 2013 The Ecological Society of Korea.
