Abstract

This book presents past accomplishments and outstanding problems in the study of plant development. It integrates results from molecular and genetic studies on plant development in a cellular and physiological context. Each landmark stage in the life cycle of plants is treated separately and the book also considers the development of individual plant organs. It is intended as a plant development text for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in plant biology, botany, or agriculture. Bibliographic references are included with each chapter and an index is available at the book's conclusion.
