Abstract

Leg ulcers can be defined as any wound located above the foot and under the knee. There are a large number of diseases that can induce a leg ulcer: malignancies, vascular, dermatological, metabolic, haematological or infectious diseases. Treatment of leg ulcers is based on two pillars:The first comprises treatment of underlying disease, and the second encompasses local wound care.
