Abstract

The framework for the complete expert system for intelligent monitoring has been built up. Knowledge acquisition has turned out be more tedious than we thought. This is the only stage of expert system development which cannot be planned. In other words, it is very difficult to estimate the time required for knowledge acquisition. The approach taken in this work has allowed us to build the infrastructure keeping in mind the requirements of the expert system. Conversion of the raw numerical data to qualitative data has been imperative for coding the rules.
