Citra Politik Ganjar Pranowo di Youtube Podkaesang Depan Pintu: Analisis Semiotika John Fiske

Abstract

With the rapid development of new media, political figures create a better political image. This study aims to examine Ganjar Pranowo's political perspective as a party official based on the YouTube content of Podkaesang Depan Pintu (PDP) episode 23. Data collection for this research was carried out using digital observation, documentation, interviews, and literature studies, as well as qualitative descriptive theory with semiotic analysis John Fiske. The results of data analysis show that Ganjar Pranowo uses the YouTube media Kaesang Pangarep to improve his political image. In the broadcast, Ganjar shows himself as a figure and cadre of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) political party rather than as Governor of Central Java. Apart from that, as his political identity, Ganjar Pranowo uses terms that are easy for the public to remember. As a result, Ganjar Pranowo described himself as a PDIP party cadre through verbal language, namely building a narrative and communication style in PDP broadcasts. Additionally, he shows his ideology nonverbally through his clothing, expressions, and gestures.
