Abstract

The Teacher Leaders in AMSTI Mathematics and Science Fellowship program was created as part of the Alabama Math Science Technology Initiative to (1) strengthen new teacher leaders' knowledge of inquiry based math and science curriculum; (2) provide coaching professional development to mentor and induct new AMSTI teacher leaders into the coaching cycle; (3) enhance the teaching skills of AMSTI teachers by providing AMSTI Teacher Leaders an opportunity to help mentor and induct teachers into the AMSTI teaching methodology through peer coaching; and, (4) enhance the mentoring and coaching skills of existing AMSTI specialists.
