Abstract

The Praventionsprojekt Dunkelfeld ("Prevention Project Dunkelfeld" or PPD) was officially launched on June 6, 2005-World Children's Day-during a media briefing at the Federal Press Conference in Berlin. The date was chosen to highlight the main goal of the project: to make an active contribution to child protection. The project's goal is to hinder sex abuse of minors by offering special treatment options to people who feel sexually attracted to children and are seeking help in controlling their behavior.
